I found myself thinking those words this past Sunday. I was watching the Philadelphia Eagles play the New York Giants, and we (the Eagles) were winning. That by itself is remarkable this season.
Midway through the 3rd quarter my wife gets up and leaves the room. She returns soon thereafter with one of those oh-too-familiar-in-our-house-plastic bags. You know, the ones Amazon.com uses to send you soft stuff. Anyway, she tells me she had bought this for me for Christmas but (as I’m opening the package and pulling out the soft hunter green knit cap) she thought that it would be one too many hats. You see, she did give me two very nice duck-bill caps for Christmas already. One in brown leather and one in black/white tweed. (I really, really like hats!)
Too many hats? And this one is an Eagles knit cap? Complete with a screaming Eagle on the front, a black pom-pom on top, NFL logo on the back. And handed to me when our team is winning. I love this woman.
“Thank you, dear. No, it’s not too many hats. You’re good.”
I proudly wore that cap the rest of the day, and the next. I might even need to wear it today too. After all, the temp here in Downingtown, Pa this morning is a balmy 11 degrees.
This is not my typical post for this blog, but it is tangentially related. Caps, hats, beanies, etc are the inspiration for the business name – Cap Web Solutions – and once in a while I think I get a pass on content.
Onward and upload.
All the best,
